    Hi Hrundi,

    The black circles on the maps show up when there are too many markers in one place — they indicate multiple markers in one area. If you zoom in on an area with these types of markers, you’ll notice that the markers go away and the regular indicators (visiting scholars, alumni etc.) show up again.

    Hello Herr Professor Dr Von Igelfeld. To change your password, simply log in and click on the “Tools” menu on the top left. Then go to “My Account” beneath it, and select “Account” on the row below that. From here you’ll see the words “Change password”, click the double arrows to expand this section, choose the password, and click “Apply” to save your new settings.

    Hi Dr. Wigglesworth. To reach the messaging system, look on the top left hand side for the “Messaging” Item. When you click this, the word “Users” will appear on the row below it, slightly to the left.
    You can then search for any user you wish to contact by typing in some letters from their name, and proceed from there.

    Hi Liu, to view and alter your information, go to the Tools menu on the top left, then select My Account | Privacy. From here you can select who can view your information, whether it is everyone, or specific user types like Faculty or Students.

    Hello Cindy,
    Not to worry, your project has been submitted and you will be notified shortly by email when it is posted on the map.
    The reason for the delay is that myglobalu has a moderation feature, which, when activated, means that the myglobalu administration team of your university needs to approve your project before it shows up on the map. This feature exists in order to prevent users from misusing the system (although we are quite sure you would never do that!).

    Hi Hrundi, thanks for your question.

    Yes, once you are registered, it is indeed possible to change your email address on myglobalu to be a personal email address instead of an institutional one.

    To do so, log into myglobalu you and go to “Tools | Account “. Type in the new email address that you wish to use, and click “Apply”. Your address will now be updated in the system.
